What We Did to Save Money This Month: February's List

February: Things we did to save money this month. (Hint: we got sick and blew our budget on Kleenex.)

Not every month is stellar when it comes to saving money...

And to be honest, February was kind of a bust. It was a month of being sick in our household. We got hit with everything that was going around (except the flu). Norovirus, Sinusitis, Bronchitis, Conjunctivitis, Laryngitis.... seriously. For people who seldom get sick, February was a banner month. As such, I wasn't really on top of the savings game.

February

Week 1:

  • We both had Norovirus, so we saved a lot on food, because we were only eating soup, dry toast, and crackers. Good times.

Week 2:

  • I had to travel out of town, so my meals and lodging were taken care of by others.
  • As for the home crew, well, there was a lot of take out—so this week was pretty much a bust.

Week 3:

  • I came home in time to get acute Sinusitis, sore throat, and an ear ache. More soup and lots of tea—which meant I wasn't drinking any coffee or milk, or eating much, in general.
  • Of course, because I was sick, I wasn't cooking—so more take out was had.

Week 4:

  • The rest of the household got sick—lots more (homemade) soup & hot tea.
